Digital Library: two decades of development in the world, lessons of experience and developmental orientation for Vietnam

Abstract

Highlights the role of digital library (DL) as one of important fundamentals for creating the national intellectual power; overviews the DL development of the world in two decades with an approach of Research-Education-Development; emphasizes the impact of web technology on DL  concept and  model changes; sets forth some specific solutions to overcome thoroughly limitations of DL development in Vietnam on the basis of analyzing gaps in DL research and training in Vietnam vs. DL development practice in the world.
