Assessment of current state of the environment regarding to concentrated vegetable production area in Than Binh hamlet, Than Cuu Nghia commune, Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province

Abstract

    Than Cuu Nghia is a commune in Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province, Vietnam. Than Cuu Nghia commune has the largest area for planing vegetables in Tien Giang province in which providing vegetables for this commune as well as for neighbour provinces. Nowadays, vegetables production has been paid for more investment by applying new technologies, new fertilizers and new chemicals to increase productivity. However, these above activities could affect in a negative way to the environment and lead to un-safety for vegetables due to surplus residues which affected to human health. With the objective of assessing the current environmental pollution by analyzing soil samples and water samples of the study area to measure the concentration of heavy metals such as Cd, Pb, As, Hg ...
