Research on scientific basis for developing soil quality monitoring network in Vinh Long

Abstract

    Determining the importance of environmental monitoring, since 2008, Vinh Long province has invested in establishing the network of environmental component's monitoring for environmental management. Despite this, the land quality monitoring network has only been started from 2017 up to now. However, the selection of soil quality monitoring sites lacks scientific bases, so it still does not meet the objectives and requirements of soil quality management. In order to improve the network of soil quality monitoring, it is necessary to review the existing monitoring network, thereby adjusting and supplementing to suit the local socio-economic conditions. Based on the actual investigation and survey, the authors have proposed the soil quality monitoring network in Vinh Long to 2025, with the orientation to 2030, including 29 monitoring points, 24 points in which are in the cultivation areas; 4 points at industrial parks, industrial clusters and livestock; 1 point at the solid waste landfill.
