Survey on knowledge, attitude towards the COVID-19 pandemic prevention of Faculty of Pharmacy, Nguyen Tat Thanh University's 17DDS

Abstract

Facing COVID-19, Pharmacy students need to have proper knowledge and the proper attitude towards COVID-19 prevention to support the medical staff, as well as protecting themselves and others. Using the cross sectional method, the study was conducted on 401 students from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Nguyen Tat Thanh University. The results were as follows: students still did not know that COVID-19 can spread via waste matter (with 28.4 % answered correctly) and misunderstood that COVID-19 could be infected from mother to child (30.4 % correct); however, students had good knowledge of the main symptoms (74.6 % answered correctly) and knew the minimum distance for COVID-19 prevention is 2 meters (89.3 % correct); and almost every student obeys the 5K measures. From the results above, it is necessary to support propaganda, especially through social networks, and to encourage accessing official information from the Ministry of Medicine and from mass media.
