Abstract

Floating market and floating market tourism is a characteristic trading and tourism type of the Mekong Delta of Vietnam. Floating markets conservation will bring benefits for the area in many aspects. However, because of economic, social development and new era tourism needs, making floating markets and floating market tourism have to deal with threats. To supply information for stakeholders in decision making of floating markets conservation and development, this research was carried out. The paper reflects the main findings in the author’s research process on floating markets, floating market tourism and strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats for floating markets as well as floating market tourism.
