RESEARCH STRUCTURE PARTICLE CHI (之) IN SINO-VIETNAMESE IDIOMS

Abstract

Sino-Vietnamese idioms, whose meanings are profound, are idioms that many generations of Vietnamese people accept and use from the Chinese idioms. There are many Sino-Vietnamese idioms in use today, but to understand them remains as a myth for many. We initially surveyed and presented some grammatical roles of the word chi (之) in Sino-Vietnamese idioms so that we are able to understand the meanings of some Sino-Vietnamese idioms containing this word.
