The natural environment in some novels about the Southwest Border War from the perspective of ecocriticism

Abstract

Ecological criticism is one of the lively criticism trends, attracting the attention of many researchers. This is a meaningful research direction, especially in a time when the environmental condition is worsening and the Earth is seriously polluted due to many factors. Researching a few novels on the topic of the Southwest border war, including Mien hoang (Suong Nguyet Minh, 2014), Mua xa nha (Nguyen Thanh Nhan, 2019), Duoi tan rung thot not (Nguyen Tam My, 2017) from ecological criticism theory, the article clarifies environmental issues affected by war, nature's ability to appease human souls and the relationship between humans and the animal world. Accordingly, it can be seen that ecology is one of the issues concerned by the authors.
