Abstract

In the 21-year resistance war against the US to save the country of the Vietnamese people (1954-1975), the Uprising movement of the Southern people left an extremely profound mark, was an important leap forward of the Southern revolution, shifting the Southern revolution from the position of preserving forces to the position of attacking, creating a solid foundation for the Southern people to defeat the US imperialists’ "Special War" strategy, and conduct revolutionary war and people's war against the aggressive war of the US and its myrmidons. More than 65 years have passed since 1959 when the partial uprisings of the Southern people broke out in many places, the Dong Khoi movement of the Southern people is still a source of pride for the wise leadership of the Central Party and the Southern local Party organizations, for the tradition of indomitable and resilient struggle of our people against the plot to divide Vietnam by the US imperialists and their lackeys. This article presents the Tra Bong uprising in the Western region of Quang Ngai and the Ben Tre uprising which are considered typical examples in the Dong Khoi movement in the South in the years 1959 and 1960.
