STUDY ON INCREASING MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF EPOXY POLYMER FILM COATING

Abstract

Epoxy resin DER 671X75 is hardened by polyamide epiure 3125 and reinforced
with nanoclay cloisite 30B and nanosilica S5505. The results showed that nanoclay
cloisite 30B and nanosilica S5505 improved mechanical properties of epoxy polymer
DER 671X75/epicure 3125 film coating, especially impact strength increased from 35 to 62.5 kG.cm (content of 2% wt/wt nanoclay cloisite 30B in epoxy resin DER 671X75) and 57.5 kG.cm (content of 1% wt/wt nanosilica S5505 in epoxy resin DER 671X75).
