BUILDING SOFTWARE INTEGRATING WEB-GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS, COMPATIBLE FOR THE ENVIROMENTAL MANAGEMENT IN QUANG NGAI

Abstract

Merging between informatics and environmental management is recently a world wide trend. Informatics has been facilitating environmental management and exhibits enomous potentials to environmental related policies. In this study, we has built up software for the administration of natural resources and environment database in Quang Ngai, a province in the Middle of Viet Nam, named ENVIMQNg (ENVironmental Information Management Software for Quang Ngai). ENVIMQNg provides the crucial information of environment to the project managers, researchers, organizations and the legal offices at provincial and national levels. ENVIMQNg plays the role of management tool to share the environmental information and concurrently helps to raise the people’ awareness of environmental protection. Remarkably, ENVIMQNg is integrated with Web-GIS technology to display maps with environmental information and longitude/ latitude data, helps to remote access and is more visual for users. Application of ENVIMQng opens a promising direction for environmental management suitable for the situation of Quang Ngai Province.
