SOME SOLUTIONS TO IMPROVE THE MANAGEMENT EFFICIENCY OF PHU XA TEMPLE – THE HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL RELIC OF HAI AN DISTRICT, HAI PHONG CITY
Abstract
The relic of Phu Xa temple in Dong Hai 1 ward, Hai An district, Hai Phong city, is one of the “four sacred temples” in the old An Duong district and one of the “three sacred temples” of Hai An district today. During the 3rd resistance war against the Mongol aggressors in 1288, Tran Hung Dao and his generals went to Phu Xa to command the battle, set up many food warehouses. It was also the place where he held ceremonies to reward his soldiers for their merits before pulling back to Van Kiep base. The temple is located on a large, high land, looking over the mouth of the Bach Dang sea where the naval battles went down in history with the Bach Dang victory in 1288, ending the Mongol imperial ambition to invade Vietnam forever. To commemorate Tran Hung Dao's merits, the people of Phu Xa built a temple to worship him in their locality and jointly worshiped Mrs. Bui Thi Tu Nhien a local female general who supported Tran Hung Dao in mobilizing the villagers to contribute rice for the army and people of the Tran Dynasty to fight the enemy.
