Abstract

Diabetes is a metabolic disease due to many different causes, characterized by chronic hyperglycemia, disorders of glucose, lipid, and protein metabolism due to lack of insulin with or without insulin resistance at varying levels. different degrees. Treatment of diabetes is mainly by using medication, however, patient compliance with treatment is not really guaranteed, there are many different reasons leading to the ineffective treatment of type 2 diabetes. get good result. Therefore, we conducted this study with the objective: Determine the proportion of outpatients with correct knowledge and compliance with medication about type 2 diabetes at District 11 Hospital. Determine the relationship. related to compliance with the use of medications to treat Type 2 Diabetes of patients at District 11 Hospital. Research subjects and methods: Cross-sectional study was conducted on 130 patients with Type 2 Diabetes undergoing outpatient treatment. residing at District 11 hospital. Results: The proportion of patients with correct knowledge achieving 6 points or more accounts for 24.62%. The remaining 98 patients had incorrect knowledge, accounting for 75.38%. The proportion of patients with correct compliance achieving 9 points or more accounts for 58.46%. The remaining 54 patients did not comply correctly, accounting for 41.54%. Statistically significant factors related to education level, age group, and duration of illness are three factors related to medication adherence. Test results showed that there was a statistically significant difference in medication adherence between education levels, age groups and disease duration (with p<0.05). Conclusion: Patients' knowledge about drugs is quite low. Patient compliance with medication is relatively good. There is a relationship between education level, age group, duration of illness and medication compliance
