GETTING FAMILIAR WITH ENGLISH FOR PRESCHOOL CHILDREN IN THE TREND OF INTERNATIONAL INTEGRATION
Abstract
Becoming a global citizen necessitates that children possess the ability to communicate and acquire knowledge from around the world through a second language. Introducing young children to English early on, starting from preschool age (3 to 5 years old), has become increasingly prevalent. Numerous studies have demonstrated that early exposure to English yields many benefits and positive impacts on children's learning processes and their communication and cognitive skills. In this article, the authors ground our discussion in the theoretical framework surrounding the significance of early English language acquisition, the psychological and physiological characteristics of preschool children, and effective pedagogical approaches. We also delve into children's language acquisition capacity at the preschool level and examine the current practices of introducing English in preschools within the present context.
