Abstract

Vocabulary is one of the most essential factors in English acquisition. Therefore, how to teach vocabulary fascinatingly plays a crucial part in supporting students acquire new words better. It has been globally known as a useful tool for teachers to draw students’ attention and boost their motivation by many interactive activities. Mixed methods were used in this five-week investigation, focus on clarifying IWB effects on freshmen’ vocabulary learning process, at Van Lang University. The research data in this thesis were drawn from three main sources: questionnaire, vocabulary motivational scale, and focused group interview. The findings showed that interactive whiteboards can help learners learn vocabulary better and increase their motivation. They also contributed greatly to the discovery in the influences of using interactive whiteboards in English classes at Van Lang University
