KNOWLEDGE ABOUT CONTRACEPTION OF VAN LANG UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

Abstract

The issue of contraception among young people is of great interest to the whole society. There are many methods to prevent pregnancy and unwanted pregnancy, but the user's understanding and correct practice are still not as expected of society, especially among students. Through a study on 234 health students at Van Lang University, it was found that the rate of knowing some contraceptive methods such as condoms, emergency contraceptive pills and based on menstrual cycle was 99.1%; 83.8% and 53,0%. Knowledge using these methods is quite low, reaching only 19.8%, 13.7% and 34.5%, respectively. Educational institutions need to take measures to remedy this situation in the future
