THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF KING LE THANH TONG TO THE HONG DUC CODE - THE INHERITATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE CODE IN PROTECTION OF SECURITY AND ORDER TODAY

Abstract

Hong Duc Code is the common name of the Criminal Law of National Court in the reign of early Le which is still fully preserved. The textual history of this code is one of the oldest bibliographies still preserved at the Institute of Han-Nom Studies (Hanoi). The content of this code can be considered as a general law including many legal regulations in many different legal fields such as: criminal law, civil law, procedural law, marriage and family law, administrative law, etc. Hong Duc Code is a very important achievement in Vietnam's legislative history compared to previous dynasties as well as many countries in the world.
