Abstract

According to Gammond, “light music is a musical genre that belongs to a very large part of “entertainment music”. It is also at the same time the opposite of serious music (such as church or Academy music) and is the synthesis of a repertoire that includes many different genres of music”. The Encyclopedia of the publishing house Larousse affirms: “light music is, in the immediate future, a musical genre, and also lively music because of its origins in folk music, it is always is enriched with new forms that are always being created, because all of this is aimed at bringing this music genre to the service of relaxation and entertainment” [2, p.8]
