Applying the perspective of total quality management to training management at higher education institutions

Abstract

Total quality management (TQM) is the highest level of quality management, organized and implemented on the basis of inheriting quality control and quality assurance activities with a philosophy of continuous improvement aimed at satisfying customer needs. This article presents research on applying TQM to training management with a structure of 03 (three) parts: (1) Total quality management; (2) Training management; (3) Applying TQM to training management; which highlights the TQM approach to training management as follows: (1) overall approach to the training process from input to process and finally output; (2) continuous quality improvement with the PDCA improvement cycle; (3) building the organization’s quality culture; Besides, the study has proposed a Training Management model approaching the perspective of total quality management as a basis for continuing research on applying TQM to training management practice.
