Current status of injuries related to training and competition of the male volleyball team at Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment

Abstract

Using the methods of investigation, observation, literature and analysis, the injury status of 24 men’s volleyball team members in Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment from daily training to competition was studied, and it was found that: (1) The incidence of sports injuries was 71%, among which joint injuries and muscle strains were common,39% and 57%, respectively, and most injuries were injuries of internal tissues. (2) Common sports injuries include ligament strain, knee joint injury, patella cartilage injury, lumbar spine injury, etc. (3) The causes of sports injuries are: sports characteristics of different positions, preparatory activities, technical move-ments, physical quality, psychological factors, cognitive concepts of prevention and accumulation of fatigue, etc. Through this article, I hope that the volleyball team in the future training and competition can be through prevention and appropriate treatment, promote the im–provement of technology and provide beneficial help for the occurrence of sports injuries.
