Currently, the rapid development of AI (artificial intelligence) tools such as ChatGPT has opened new possibilities to enhance lesson planning for teachers. This tool has the ability to create appropriate lesson content, reduce time constraints while improving teaching quality. After providing specific requirements and objectives, teachers can obtain comprehensive lesson plans with diverse creative activities. This article explores the potential of ChatGPT in assisting teachers’ lesson planning, then illustrates a sample plan for an English speaking skill lesson. Although this tool is revolutionizing the way teachers work, it will not replace real human teachers. Teachers will always need to supplement teaching content with their own insights and experiences, to help students have the best learning experience.
