Research technology of co-processing of municipal solid waste in cement kiln

Abstract

The cement industry consumes a lot of energy compared to other industries. Energy costs make up the bulk of the total cost of production. Therefore, saving energy and reducing gas emissions in the cement industry has become one of the options for the development process. The amount of MSW generated in the world is increasing with the increase of global population as well as economic development. Most of the MSW is disposed in landfill, which consumes land resources, and also causes many negative impacts on the environment. This paper presents the results of assessment of the properties of MSW at dumpsites in the north, central and south regions. At the same time, evaluate the status of using alternative fuel at cement plants, thereby proposing pre-processing and co-processing of MSW in cement industry.
