Developing green industrial buildings in Hanoi industrial clusters - Towards a green industrial cluster model for a low-carbon economy

Abstract

Construction and development of green industrial buildings in industrial clusters (ICs) in Hanoi will make an important contribution to green development, reducing carbon emissions, reducing natural resource depletion and environmental pollution because Hanoi currently has 70 industrial clusters with 3,864 households and industrial enterprises in operation, and is expected to have 159 industrial clusters by 2030. This study assesses the current status and necessity of constructing green industrial buildings in Hanoi's industrial clusters. The study also makes recommendations for stakeholders including policy makers, investors and architects to pay attention to the construction of green industrial buildings, and which green building certificates should be used in the design and construction of industrial clusters in general and in Hanoi in particular. The study has compiled data on green industrial buildings and conducted surveys in Hanoi's industrial clusters to assess the
applicability of green building design and construction.
