Waste management in food processing industry in industrial parks of Bac Ninh province towards green transformation

Abstract

This study has compiled information on the operation of 16 industrial parks in Bac Ninh province up to 2024, and presented survey information collected from 7 food processing companies in the province's industrial parks, reviewing the situation of wastewater and solid waste management at 04 companies: Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam Beverage Company Limited, SBT Production and Trading Joint Stock Company, Ottogi Vietnam Company and Liwwaywway Hanoi Company.
Through lessons learned for Vietnam, the research results have assessed the challenges of an objective nature (such as laws, policies,...) and a subjective nature (companies' readiness for green transformation) to make 4 recommendations for management agencies and 6 recommendations for businesses to orient the food processing industry in Bac Ninh province's industrial parks towards green transformation in the future.
