Abstract

ABSTRACT:
Experiments and simulation models of steel fiber reinforced concrete beams (SFRC) subjected to three-point bending according to EN 14651: 2005 are studied in this paper. Dramix 4D steel fibers with different fiber content (0, 20, 30, and 40 kg / m3) are used for concrete beams of B25 grade. The test sample is 150 x 150 x 600 mm. Experimental results show that the flexural strength of concrete beams decreases significantly after reaching the maximum strength value. Meanwhile, the flexural strength of steel fiber concrete beams is significantly improved compared to the
case without steel fibers. With the same fiber type, the content of the steel fiber in a concrete volume is considered one of the important factors for improving the flexural toughness. Simulation model by finite element method has given results consistent with the experiment. Through modeling, flexural strength and the behavior of SFRC concrete were further analyzed and discussed.
