Analysis kiewitt 8 domes supported by substructure columns to severe earthquake motions

Abstract

It is considered that earthquake is one of the causes for the deadly disasters and the building collapses. Therefore the analysis of structural seismic resistance is one of the important tasks for scientists. Nowadays, in most of the trusses seismic analysis, it is considered that the above trusses structures directly supported by foundations without consideration the ralationship with the below column. Hence, the analysis results and the structure behavior are different. This paper presents the using of the finite element method (FEM) for single-layer Kiewitt 8 trusses analysis taking into consideration the relationship with substructures columns under severe earthquake motions
