Experimental study on elastic modulus of lightweight concrete using fly ash cenospheres

Abstract

This paper presents the results of experimental research about mechanical properties of the elastic modulus of lightweight concrete (LWC) using Fly Ash Cenospheres (FAC). The purpose of this reseach is to determine the elastic modulus of LWC using fly ash microspheres at different density (1400, 1600 và 1800 kg/m3). Experimental results show that the lower the density (equivalent to the higher the replacement of cenospheres), the lower the elastic modulus. Experimental results also showed that, for LWC, the stressstrain curves were more linear than convetional concrete, which showed less ductile behavior of the materials.
