Organizing the space of traditional pottery villages in the Central region of Vietnam

Abstract

Pottery is a craft with historical significance, always changing according to technical developments and new production methods. Each pottery village contains unique values. Artistic value is created from the potter's skill, which is a form of expression of ideas, materials and production methods. Ceramic products become works of art that carry the spirit of the times, reflect traditional culture, define identity and bring financial benefits to people. For traditional pottery villages in Vietnam, protecting the authenticity of cultural heritage is important. Current planning has destroyed their structure and character. Researching the spatial organization of traditional pottery villages provides insight into the relationship between humans and the natural environment, and helps preserve and sustainably develop these villages.
