Comparison of calculation results of heat of hydration in mass concrete using Midas Civil and Ansys

Abstract

Currently, the construction field has been increasingly developing, with diverse and various architectural designs meeting many functions such as: apartments, commerce, services, offices, etc. The loadbearing structures of these types of constructions are mostly very large in size, most of these structures have problems controlling thermal cracking during the thermal reaction of concrete hydration. To prevent the formation of thermal cracks in mass concrete structures during construction, it is necessary to have a suitable calculation method and also have a solution to control the maximum temperature and maximum temperature difference in concrete block. This article presents and compares two methods of calculating the heat of concrete hydration based on the finite element method: Using Midas Civil and Ansys software, numerical simulation analysis for concrete transfer beam structures used in high-rise buildings according to different construction methods.
