Street tree management and development in some cities in Thai Nguyen province

Abstract

Street trees always play an important role in establishing the characteristics of landscape architectural space and urban environment. With the pressure of urbanization and climate change, the role of streets trees becomes more obviously. Furthermore, the street tree system is one of the important linear elements of the urban ecosystem. In Vietnam, the rapid urbanization leads to serious reduction and disruption of street tree systems in large cities in general and cities in Thai Nguyen province in particular. Therefore, the urban trees system is increasingly receiving attention from authorities, scientists, citizens and society; especially for the management and development of street trees. Besides, to have a sustainable development of street tree system, the information about trees used time and maintenance need to be managed, edited, reported and building a database for each tree in a appropriate information system. This article focuses on evaluating the current status of street tree management and development, thereby proposing some solutions for street tree management and development in some cities in Thai Nguyen province according to sustainable development and improvement of the urban environment.
