Factors affecting the perception of social responsibility of construction contractors in Ho Chi Minh City

Abstract

Social responsibility is relatively new in developing countries. In Vietnam, when businesses in general and construction enterprises in particular when implementing social responsibility activities face many difficulties. To perform social responsibility activities well. This study was conducted to identify factors that affect employee engagement with the building contractor and the building contractor's commitment to stakeholders. Inheriting previous studies at home and abroad and consulting experts with many years of experience in the field of construction, 38 influencing factors have been identified and classified into 06 groups, to the perception of social responsibility of construction contractors and stakeholders such as: (1) Social responsibility of employees to the construction contractor; (2) Social responsibility of the construction contractor to the investor; (3) Social responsibility of the construction contractor to the customer; (4) The social responsibility of the construction contractor to the community; (5) Social responsibility of construction contractors to the environment and (6) Commitment to social responsibility of construction contractors and stakeholders. The research method of this paper is to use SPSS 22.0 software to calculate mean, verify Cronbach's Alpha coefficient, analyze EFA factor, then use Amos 28 software to analyze CFA affirmation, build a SEM linear structure model. The results of this study are for businesses to refer to and use when implementing social responsibility associations at construction enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City HCMC as well as in other localities.
