Abstract

Investment in highway construction in Vietnam is being deployed on a very large scale across the country, passing through many localities. Managing construction investment costs is a content In a construction project, the proportion of material costs accounts for more than 40% to 70% of the total cost of the project. A small savings in material costs through effective material price control can result in significant savings in the total cost of the project. Most organizations face challenges of over-stocking of materials, duplication and waste of resources. The difficulty is to find methods that allow minimizing waste and losses to improve material price control performance. Therefore, controlling material prices plays a very important role and is affected by many factors both objective and subjective. The purpose of the article is to synthesize the theoretical basis, identify and point out the main influencing factors. Assess the current status of price control of highway construction materials. Point out the limitations and causes, thereby providing some recommendations to improve the quality of price control of highway construction materials in Vietnam today.
