Solution to renovate the urban blocks of Hanoi City

Abstract

In recent years, Hanoi City has made a lot of progress in urban development. However, the city has mainly focused on its infrastructure development in its new urban areas while urban renovation in its old areas still faces many challenges and difficulties. This study proposes an approach to urban improvement by using uban block method, where structures inside and outside the street are distinguished. Proposed solutions can improve the street from the inside and create good living spaces, and at the same time. It can reduce the cost of land clearance and compensation, leading to fewer problems related to work, the people's livelihood, and minimal adverse impacts, while maintaining a good community relation among people there.
