POLITICAL PRISONERS’ STRUGGLE AT BA RA MOUNTAIN FORCED LABOR CAMP (1940 -1945)

Abstract

The Ba Ra Mountain Forced Labor Camp was the political prison which was established in unwholesome environment by the French colonial government in Vietnam from 1940 to March 1945. With the name "labor camp", the colonial government built to imprison revolutionary patriots and many others. This paper presents the prisoners’ struggles with the highlights of: women's struggles, punishing evil people, combating terrorism, suffering from disease as a form. torture - exile, organization and internal struggle, escapes. These fighting activities are an important part of the operation of Ba Ra mountain prison. The paper accounts the history of prisons in Vietnam during the colonial period, imperialism.
