VILLAGE IN NGOC GIAO’S PROSE
Abstract
Ngoc Giao's prose has generated an image of a village that is both old and modern, calm and disturbed, attractive, habitable and frightening, and changeable. However, this is still a topic that hasn't been properly researched. We firstly noticed this through a survey, statistics, research, and comparison of the images of villages in Ngoc Giao prose. It is an image of a peaceful community, full of thanks, but destitute and impoverished; the village was wrecked, suffering in the region seized by the enemy, and gradually transformed with contemporary components. It is also a community before and during the war with a direct, less avoidant appearance that elicits a wide range of feelings. People will be able to see the value and significance of Ngoc Giao's prose and the colors of the village picture in Vietnamese literature after this study.
