THE CONSTRUCTION OF HISTORICAL MULTIPLE-CHOICE QUESTIONS TOWARDS CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT IN HIGH SCHOOLS

Abstract

In the trend of educational innovation in Vietnam, in addition to renewing the teaching content and methods, the reform of examination and evaluation also needs to be conducted seriously and regularly. Constructing multiple-choice questions in the direction of capacity assessment is a trend of innovation in testing and assessment in the world and has begun to be implemented in Vietnam. For History subject, multiple-choice questions in the direction of capacity assessment have contributed to overcoming student’s memorization and promoting logical thinking ability. The organization of the capacity assessment exam and the use of the results of the competency assessment exam for university admission has demonstrated the superiority of the multiple choice question format in the direction of capacity assessment. Based on the methodology of logic, synthesis, this paper proposes the structure, level, and process of building objective multiple-choice questions in History subject to the orientation of capacity assessment in high schools. This article is an important basis for high school teachers to constructing objective multiple-choice questions in the direction of assessing capacity.
