SOME THEORY ISSUES ON EDUCATIONAL INNOVATION AND MANAGEMENT IN PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES

Abstract

Based on the survey of documents on innovative practices in university governance in the world and the author's research, the purpose of this paper is to present the results of the evaluation and analysis of the relationship between management and educational innovation in public universities in the world in general and in Vietnam in particular. This allows us to describe different types of innovation, identify some of the obstacles to innovation, and offer suggestions on how to accelerate innovation based on changes in governance and the industry education system at public universities. To achieve that goal, it is necessary to understand the concepts of management, types of innovation, areas of innovation practice, theoretical basis and challenges of implementing innovation in universities. Studies have shown that education needs to innovate more effectively to help produce high-quality learning outcomes across the system. It also indicates that the application of technology should be based on a solid theoretical foundation and systematic, purposeful research and solid pedagogy. From the research results, the article also makes some recommendations to guide further research.
