Abstract

The research focuses on utilizing the method of theoretical research: synthesis, analysis, and review of relevant literature concerning the issues of textbooks and the Mathematics curriculum in two countries, France and Vietnam. The aim is to highlight the differences in the approach to teaching first-grade Mathematics between Vietnam and France. The study also addresses the use of the Mathematics Grade 1 textbooks in both countries. Both Vietnam and France place a strong emphasis on applying mathematical knowledge and skills to address practical problems. The teaching approaches in Vietnam and France exhibit significant differences, impacting the utilization of Mathematics Grade 1 textbooks in these two nations. Nonetheless, both approaches have their advantages and certain similarities. This research serves as valuable material for curriculum and textbook researchers, as well as educators interested in the subject.
