Educational access of the Chut people in the North Central region of Vietnam

Abstract

The quality of life of the Chut in Vietnam has improved in all aspects over the years, especially in education, due to the support and priority policies of the Communist Party and State towards ethnic minorities. Utilizing published statistics and fieldwork data in the North Central region, this article presents the current situation and opportunities to access education of the Chut. Accordingly, although the Chut’s education has been significantly improved, they have been facing challenges such as the habit of living in remote places, language barriers, child marriages, having many children, and their restricted awareness of education that hinder them in accessing and improving the quality of their education.
