Identification of the infectious bronchitis virus strain in chicken by molecular biology method
Abstract
National Centre for Veterinary Drug and Bio-products Control No.1 is conserving a infectious bronchitis virus - IBV strain in chicken (denoted: attenuated IB) serving for control, diagnosis and vaccine production. In this study, we conducted an assessment of the genetic characteristics of
the above virus strain by sequencing and analyzing the S1 antigen gene. The results of nucleotide analysis and genealogy of origin showed that the attenuated IBV strain is being conserved in the above Centre was H120 strain, belonging to massachuset branch. This virus strain related closely to the attenuated H120 strains with the amino acid and nucleotide similarity level were from 99.5 % to 100%. While, the similarity level of the conserved IBV strain in comparison with the IBV strains of
other branches/genotypes was low (from 63.2 % to 98.6 %)
