Blood physiological characteristics of indigenous dogs raised at the Breed dog farm, Viet Nam - Russia tropical center infected with E. canis

Abstract

In this study, we investigated the change of some hematological parameters in the indigenous dogs raised at the Breed dog farm, Viet Nam - Russia tropical center suffered with blood parasite infection - E. canis. The blood samples were collected from the infection dogs in the herd which were diagnosed
by rapid test kit. The blood physiological parameter was identified by automatic hematology testing machine. The results of blood analysis showed that the infection dogs with E. canis were detected at the subclinical infection stage. The hematological parameters of the disease dogs did not have a big change in comparison with the healthy dogs. Thrombocytopenia was observed in 21/50 (42%) E. canis-positive dogs, this is a sign that helps to confirm the diagnosis of E. canis-infected dogs.
