Status of Japanese encephalitis in mayor hospitals of some provinces in Red river delta in 2009-2014
Abstract
Japanese encephalitis is an acute viral infection disease causing high mortality rate and remaining heavy sequel for the patients. This study was conducted to investigate the status of Japanese encephalitis virus infection in human in some provincial major hospitals in Red River Delta from 2009 to 2014. The studied result showed that the prevalence of Japanese encephalitiswas relatively high. Thai Binh was the province having the highest numbers of the infected persons with Japanese encephalitis in comparison with other provinces. In 2009 and 2010, Japanese encephalitis epidemic occurred in several provinces. The highest infection rate was in June - July of the year. Enhancing communication and education on the prevention of Japaneseencephalitis for people, sufficient vaccination according to guideline of the public health authority is very necessary.
