The situation of renal failure in dogs at Ninh Kieu district, Can Tho city

Abstract

There were 1,652 dogs taken to the Veterinary hospital of Can Tho University and some Veterinary clinics at Ninh Kieu district, Can Tho city for diagnosis and treatment. Of which, 122 cases were suffered from urinarysystem disorder. Urine of these dogs was tested and their bladder and urethra stones were diagnosed by X-ray, techniques to find pathologic images in urinary system.The tested results showed that pathologic change in urinary system was 7.38%, of which chronic renal failure was 31.97%, acute renal failure was 28.69%, cystitis inflammation was 22.95%, bladder and urethra stones was 16.39%. Efficacy of treatment depended on the durationof the pathologic period and pathologic level. However, 29.73% of the ill dogs were reco-vered, of which, 51.43% of dogs with early acute renal failure, 10.25% of chronic renal failure.
