Situation of catarrhalis enteritis in dog in Gia Binh district, Bac Ninh province and treatment trial

Abstract

The studied result on the incidence of catarrhalis enteritis in 835 raising dogs in Gia Binh district, Bac Ninh province showed that the average prevalence was 23.95 %, the highest prevalence was in the dog group from 2-4 months of age (33.33%) and the lowest rate was in the dog group over 6 months of age (12.59 %). Different breeds had different incidence, the highest prevalence was in the foreign breeds (41.67 %) and the lowest rate was in the domestic breeds (13.22 %). Different seasons in the year led to different incidence, the highest incidence was in spring (34.95%) and the lowest incidence was in autumn (13.24%). The additional administration of water and physiological solutions played a key role in the enteritis treatment. The vein transfusion method could be replaced by the simpler methods, such as subcutaneous injection and/or oral administration.
