Study on monieziosis in experimental infection goat in Bac Giang province

Abstract

Experimental infection with tapeworm Moniezia spp. for goats in order to identify some characteristics of the monieziosis was carried out in Bac Giang province. The studied results showed that the goats were infected with tapeworm Moniezia spp. having the clinical signs, such as: thin, fuzzy hair, diarrhea or loose stools, excreted feces with many burning flukes, many mucus in the stool, abdominal distention, neurological symptoms. The result of examining 3 goats after infection showed that there were 13 - 15 tapeworms/goat with the gross lesions, such as: intestinal inflammation, hemorrhage, obstruction, necrosis, intestinal mucosa peeling, liver swelling, heart accumulating water, lung inflammation. Study on the histological lesion slices indicated that the intestinal villi were peeled, degenerated, eosinophilic infiltrates, intestinal villi were broken, proliferative intestinal glands; intestinal slice presented tapeworm, degenerative vacuole on some hepatocytes and percutaneous venous congestion in the liver, with edema and inflammatory fluid in the bronchus and edema in alveolar lumen, lymphocyte proliferation, inflammatory cell infiltrates in the bronchial wall, bronchial epithelial cell degeneration, peeling, erythrocytes were destroyed in the vascular at the heart.
