The situation on Canine distemper in Tra Vinh city

Abstract

Study on Canine distemper in Tra Vinh city by Rapid Test Immumo of Asan Company (Korea) was carried out from April to October, 2019. The studied results showed that there were 34 dogs positive with Canine distemper Virus (CDV) out of 75 dogs presenting the clinical symptoms of Canine distemper. The CDV infection rate of the dogs under 6 months old were the highest (68%) and 3 different dog age groups presented the infection rate with significant difference (P<0,05). There were 50% of male and 41.86% of female dogs were infected with CDV. The infection rate of the exotic dog group were higher than that of the domestic dog group with significant difference (P<0.05). The clinical symptoms appeared such as: anorexic, moody, fever, sneezing, conjunctivitis in all the infection dogs (100%). The infection rate of the vaccinated dogs were lower than that of the un-vaccinated dogs and the un-enough dose vaccinated dog (6.25%, 80% and 69.57%, respectively).
