Canine distemper in Sa Dec city, Dong Thap province

Abstract

Determining Canine Distemper in Sa Dec city, Dong Thap province was conducted by using Rapid Test Immumo Kit of Asan company (Korea) from January to September 2019. The studied result showed that 41 dogs were positive with Canine Distemper Virus (CDV) out of 93 dogs presenting the
clinical respiratory symptoms. The highest infected rate was in the dog group under 6 months old (68%), and there was a significant difference (P<0.05) in comparison with three other age groups. The exotic dogs were infected with CDV (59.61%) higher than that of the indigenous dogs (24.38%) with a significant difference (P<0.05). The clinical symptoms such as: fever, anorexic, moody, vomiting and neurological symptoms were 100%, 100%, 60.98% and 7.32%, respectively. There were 19.23% of the CDV infected dogs, were recovered from treatment.
