The current situation of English speaking skill of second year non-major students in faculty of garment technology and fashion design of Hanoi University of Industry
Abstract
English speaking skill is one of the important skills in the English learning process of students in the Faculty of Garment Technology and Fashion Design at Hanoi University of Industry. Survey results show that speaking is the most challenging skill among the four English skills for these students. Their English speaking ability is at quite good level. While students continue to focus on learning vocabulary, grammar, listening, reading and writing, speaking skills have received more attention and have been increasingly improved in recent years. Instructors enhance speaking skills through individual presentations and group work. At home, students focus on improving their pronunciation. This study proposes some solutions to help improve the English speaking ability of students in the Faculty of Garment Technology and Fashion Design at Hanoi University of Industry.
