A starting discussion on the conceptual terminology of meaning and sense in the modern linguistics

Abstract

Terminology is an important and specific part of the vocabulary, which is the function of accurately and systematically expressing scientific concepts. Systemity is an important attribute of vocabulary, because only when systematicity is guaranteed can the term perform the function of clearly and accurately representing concepts. The study and interpretation of the meaning and sense of the two concepts in modern linguistics has always been the subject of many opinions by linguistic experts. The two concepts of terminology have always had different and inconsistent views, leading to inconsistent research trends and studies. Based on linguistic experts' analysis and research of concepts about meaning and sense, the paper hopes to help further interpret some views and clarify the concepts of these two terms. Consequently, research efforts in the construction and standardization of terminology in the context of digital transformationare now more comprehensive and complete perspective.
