Abstract

Students with intellectual disabilities have basic cognitive characteristics when they have an IQ <70, limited communication skills, social skills and independent living skills. They always face many difficulties in studying, living and integrating at school and in the community. However, despite the limitations caused by intellectual disabilities, they need to be equipped with very basic knowledge and skills to be able to integrate in studying and living at school, family and community. Based on the theoretical issues such as some basic concepts, general characteristics and characteristics of learning Mathematics for students with intellectual disabilities in integrated learning in grade 1, identifying 04 groups of calculation skills, the article evaluates the current situation of teaching calculation skills for students with intellectual disabilities in integrated learning in grade 1 in terms of the level of implementation and achievement of the 04 groups of skills identified through a survey of 31 teachers who are teaching integrated learning for students with intellectual disabilities in grade 1. The research results of the article will be the basis for research to propose measures to teach calculation skills for students with intellectual disabilities in integrated learning in grade 1, contributing to improving the quality of this process.
