“NHAN VAN - GIAI PHAM” AND A TRAGIC ENDING FOR A LITERARY ERA

Abstract

The era of “Nhan van-Giai pham” (roughly, “Humanities-Masterpieces”) and the associated research and critiques only lasted for short of two years (1956-1957), but its tragedy and consequent sufferings experienced by its members have endured far beyond. This paper provides some evidence from articles and other pieces of writings published in this era in order to provide readers with an accurate and objective perspective on the wrongs and sufferings perceived to be associated with this literary era.
